Day 1 and 2 - Cochin
Arrive Cochin airport. Transfer to the booked hotel in Cochin for 2 nights. To go for local city sightseeing, visit the famous Chinese nets, St. Francis Church ( 1st Church build by the Europeans in India, where Vasco de Gama was buried ) , Santa Cruz cathedral ( one of the oldest catholic churches in Kerala ) ,the Jew town ,the Synogogue ( the only one on India and one of the oldest in the world ) and the Kathakali show ( Kerala”s centuries old traditional dance form ).
Day 3 and 4 – via Athirappally waterfalls to Munnar hills.
To tour Munnar via the great Athirappally waterfalls. These falls is a part of Chalakudy river and it is 80 feet in height. 80 km from Cochin is easily reachable, taking about 2 hours drive. After visiting the falls to go to Munnar , the highest hill station in Kerala, 6,000 feet above sea level and tea growing area. On arrival to check in booked hotel and later to explore Munnar. Explore the unending expanse of tea plantations , valleys, mountains , lakes , dams , get feel of cool air, visit places like the Echo point, Tata tea museum , Mattupetty ( for speed boating ) and more..
Day 5 and 6 – Periyar wildlife, Thekkady
To tour Periyar wildlife sanctuary in Thekkady,from Munnar 120 km and takes about 3 hours to arrive in Periyar.On arrival to check in the booked hotel. Here one could go for soft trek, boating , plantation visit or numerous activities in the park.
Day 7- Houseboat, Alleppey
On day 7 to transfer to houseboat in Alleppey which is 150 km from the park and takes about 3 and half hour to 4 hours to arrive at the houseboat. On check in to enjoy the backwater overnight cruise and sumptuous meals prepared by Chef on board.
Day 8 – Alleppey
On check out from houseboat to stay a night in Alleppey and during day to visit the coir manufacturing factory, or be at leisure and enjoy good sea food delicacies in local restaurants.Night stay in Alleppey.
Day 9 – 14 ( 5 nights / 6 days ) - Airport transfer, Cochin to Colombo (Sri Lanka)
After check out from the houseboat, to transfer to airport in Cochin and proceed for onward destination, Sri Lanka a little pearl shape gem off southern shores of India , having Buddhist heart , intricate cuisines and history of being a great trading port.
On arrival in Colombo , capital with chic eateries and boutiques.Guests to go for the golden sandy beaches stretching 1300 km with tourist all the year round , choice of steady surf , laze and enjoy the beautiful sunshine , or Ayurveda , Spa , Yoga and meditation retreats , up and down the coastline or to jungle trails to Kandy , safaris elephant and tiger and whale watching adventures or to Gale to see European history , a 16th century colonial fort.With plenty in store for tourists, Sri Lanka will keep you coming back again and again !
